Re: General Natter Room
Thanks, John. Chick and I have certainly enjoyed our recent outings. Tomorrow we plan to visit Blewbury in Oxfordshire which was the home of Worzel Gummidge creator, Barbara Euphan Todd. She lived in a house called Chapmans (see photo below), which recently sold for around £1,000,000. Opposite the house is a large field and it is easy to imagine that this was the inspiration for Ten Acre Field where Worzel should have been scaring away the birds.
The adoration of the great Elvis Presley is truly amazing, John. It's hard to believe that forty years have passed since his death. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when the news of his passing was announced on television. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing.

This sounds like a grand day out, Eddie! The House looks lovely. Unfortunately, I wasn't in a position to buy it. I was a pound short of the asking price (I wish!), so I had to let it go. I hope you both have a super day.

Thanks, Number 6. I think I was also a pound short of the asking price!

I'd sooner buy Old Thatch for £1,500,000 - but I think they took it off the market.

Blewbury is a delightful Oxfordshire village, with lots of thatched cottages, just four miles from Didcot. Chick and I enjoyed our visit today in spite of some unsettled weather. We did manage to stay dry long enough to go to see Chapmans, Barbara Euphan Todd's former home.number 6 wrote:This sounds like a grand day out, Eddie! The House looks lovely.

Now I'm blushing. Thank you very much for your very kind words, which could also be used to describe you and Jane, Nigel.

Yes, you do wonder if it is something wrong with your computer when you get some of these notices. It looks as if they are having technical difficulties.
