Good photos, Number 6 and Julie! I'm enjoying following the discussion and it's great to have Gary's input.

Great photos, as always, Number 6.

Re: TV locations for the Famous Five series
Thanks Anita & Eddie! The photos weren't as good as I was hoping. This was due to a lot of overcast/dull weather on two out three visits to the New Forest. The Sun was also in the wrong position when it did eventually break through all of the thick cloud. As you know, taking photos looking towards the Sun makes everything look very dark or wipes out the pic altogether. Thankfully, I managed to get some good photos & will post these when I've got the chance.
Re: TV locations for the Famous Five series
Hello! Im new here so please be gentle! Hee hee. Im Really intrested in the locations, espically from the 1978 series, great to see! Being a Hampshire lad makes it even more interesting as their within easy reach. Just wanted to ask a question if I may, reguarding the boathouse(trouble), where actually is this location? Is it sowley pond? If so whereabouts? Is it by the road by the farm settlements or is it right in on the other side? I saw a pict down the forum and it was great to see, just can't believe it's still their!

Re: TV locations for the Famous Five series
Hi Billycock! Nice to hear from you & welcome to the forums. Yes, the boathouse is at Sowley pond & both are located within private fishing grounds. Onkel Quentin, who posts frequently on this thread, visited the location earlier this year (May?) & may be able to pinpoint the spot for you. It is his pics that you've probably seen on this thread. I visited the location many years ago, but I can't remember the exact spot it's in. I was in the New Forest last week & was gonna visit the location, but I didn't get time! If you want any help regarding any other location, then please don't hesitate to ask.

Two pics of Captain Johnson's house from the 'Mystery Moor' episode. The house is located next door to Decoy Pond Farm stables, used in the same episode.

Re: TV locations for the Famous Five series
The first pic is where the Five descend the stone steps towards Dancing Ledge, Dorset. The second pic is of the scene from the episode itself. The third pic is a reverse view, where Anne & George are seen running up the stone steps & going for help after seeing Yan disappear from the ledge. All from 'Go down to the sea' Note: Stone steps have been reinstated in recent years & weren't around during filming!

The first pic is a distant view of Roydon Manor, which doubled as Old Towers in 'Five get into a fix'. The second pic is of the Crossroads as seen in the 'Five on a Hike' episode, located between Burley Street and Castle Hill in the New Forest.

Re: TV locations for the Famous Five series
Thanks, Billycock. There are gaps in the hedge on your left as you walk down the rough track towards the Ford/bridge. These offer some good views of the Manor. It does mean scrambling a few feet up a slight banking to the wire fence, but it's not difficult. The Manor is obscured from the bridge, but there's a gap a few yards back up the path that gives a closer view. I walked the paths from Brockenhurst. It's pretty straight forward, but do take a map... OL22 New Forest map is perfect! I'll post some pics when I download them. Better quality than those I've recently posted!

A clearer view of the Britannia B&B on station street, Lymington Town, which doubled as the Police Station in the 'Get into trouble' episode.

Re: TV locations for the Famous Five series
Hello Billycock,
You want to know the position of the boathouse at Sowley Pond? There is a street in the south of SP, the boathouse is on the eastside, when the street comes to the SP. From the street, you can only see the roof of the boathouse, there are trees and bushes. There is a barbed wire, because the area around the SP is private! I was lucky, by my last visit there was a member of the fishing club, he allowed me to enter the privat ground and to make the pictures, you have seen in this forum.
