Re: Painting
Wow - exciting! At Seven Stories, at the Enid Blyton Exhibition, there were some lovely watercolour pictures of flowers that Enid had painted, so yes, she did do some painting.

Re: Painting
Yes, I think she painted several of her garden - one of which is used on the front cover of Imogen Smallwood's A Childhood at Green Hedges.
(I tried to put in an image of the book but my computer is letting me "copy" but not "paste" for some reason.)

Re: Painting
That's odd, our computer does that now as well. The only way I can c&p a photo, is to copy it from the icon (small) picture. If I open the picture to full size, it won't paste. Mind you, if the picture is on your computer, you don't need to c&p, just upload it to tinypic and include the image code in your post.Anita Bensoussane wrote:(I tried to put in an image of the book but my computer is letting me "copy" but not "paste" for some reason.)
Is this the cover?

Re: Painting
I like Imogen's subtitle; "A Fragment of Autobiography". It's rather wistful and reminds me of Grahame Green's autobiography, the first part of which was entitled "A Sort of Life".

It's under the "Posts to page" section on the left, which you need to open up to see the contents. I've posted it above though so everyone can see it.

Re: Painting
Thanks Fiona! Looks like a mystery for The Secret Seven Club to solve!!
( I changed the format using tinypic in my copy,as I couldn't download the above pic to enlarge it to study it more closely.)
Looking more closely at the above pic,it looks like the picture has been cropped from a larger montage, the framework is seemingly of card and the section on the left looks like a bookmark.
Can't see Enid's signature anywhere on the bottom left or right of the pic.Did she always sign her paintings?
Could be good idea to compare some of her known artwork to this one to compare brush strokes, artistic style, subject matter, colourific identity, pigmentation etc??
