Noddy Omission?
Just noticed there's no depiction of Noddy on the Society picture at the very top of this page.
Genuine omission or deliberate oversight???

It's a tragedy, that's what it is.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

We’ll have to petition Tony for him to be included.

But what would you delete to make room for Noddy?

Re: Noddy Omission?
It'd be simplest to delete either Mr Pink-Whistle or Mr Goon (at either end), but I wouldn't want to lose either of them!
On that note, can anyone fill me in on two of the images in the top-of-page banner that I don't recognise? As far as I can make out, it features, from left to right:
Mr Pink-Whistle from The Adventures of Mr Pink-Whistle
??? (three children with a horse and a dog)
Barney from The Rilloby Fair Mystery
??? (three girls I also don't recognise)
Jo, Bessie and Fanny from The Magic Faraway Tree
George, Julian and Timmy from Five Run Away Together
Philip, Dinah, Jack and Kiki from The Island of Adventure
Jeffrey, John and Susan from The Treasure Hunters
... and The Redoubtable Mr Goon by Joseph Abbey
I must say I've always really admired this collage of them all — well done to whoever put it together!

Re: Noddy Omission?
A small Noddy could be inserted to the right of Enid Blyton's name - plenty of room there without having to delete anybody. Where then to put Big Ears?
I used to use a banner at the top of my website where the image changed every so many seconds, which I could vary in length depending on how I created it. That way you could accommodate even more characters.

But then he might look like he was about to fall down the mine shaft that Philip is climbing into!Boatbuilder wrote:A small Noddy could be inserted to the right of Enid Blyton's name - plenty of room there without having to delete anybody.
Dunno. (That just reminded me of the old joke we used to have in primary school: Q. Why do elephants have big ears? A. Because Noddy wouldn't pay the ransom. )Boatbuilder wrote:Where then to put Big Ears?

It already looks as though the young boy stood alongside it could easily be nudged down there.Courtenay wrote:But then he might look like he was about to fall down the mine shaft that Philip is climbing into!Boatbuilder wrote:A small Noddy could be inserted to the right of Enid Blyton's name - plenty of room there without having to delete anybody.

The three girls are from the back cover of 'In the Fifth At Malory Towers'

Re: Noddy Omission?
This is one such banner I created a few years ago for my own forum. This uses three different images spaced about 15 to 20 seconds apart. Just keep watching and it will change.
Something like this could be used to have lots more of the EB Characters appearing along the top by using the existing image and a similar one with other characters on. There are different transitions that can be used between the images to create the desired effect.

Re: Noddy Omission?
Keith put the collage together, with input from Tony and me. Although it's visible on all pages of the website, it was designed chiefly with the home page in mind. Noddy is represented on the home page by images on either side of the serial banner - and by the Noddy Series button:Courtenay wrote:I must say I've always really admired this collage of them all — well done to whoever put it together!
