Translations of documents not available in English

Post by Wolfgang »

There are books, manuals etc. published in German (and therefore there's a copyright) which are officially not available in English (as far as I know). Some of these might be of interest for some people here (e.g. Pete expressed his interest for Junior's diary in the Finniston Farm thread). Would it be ok to post unofficial translations in the forum, or is the general policy on this forum that this has to be avoided (which I would understand and respect)?
I haven't found another thread dealing with this question by a short search, so if there's already one I'm sorry for creating this thread.

The German material sounds interesting but I think there could well be copyright issues, Wolfgang. It would be a matter for Hachette.

The forums themselves are not designed to deal with very long pieces of text, though we have put up whole books in the Cave (e.g. the continuation novels written by Blyton fans). I don't know how much space there is for extras or what Tony thinks about the idea.
