Display problem

Post by Moose »

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this before as I've been away but the display is not working for me .. everything is gray and all the texts are overlapping. Sometimes it shows as it should but most of the time it isn't .. do I have a browser problem?

Hmmm... mine is fine Moose so I think it could be your browser. It sounds similar to the problems a couple of people had when we initially changed over to the new forums about six months ago or so. I think Robert Houghton was one of the sufferers at that time if I remember rightly. You probably need to wait for him or Keith to log in again as they would probably know what to do.

Sorry I cant be more help but I am a computer dunce.

Hi LS! I suspect it's cos I am using an older version of IE .. I'll try it on firefox. It's still readable like this but not easily.

Firefox is only a 5mb download and far less a drain on computer resources then Internet Explorer. IE can easliy be updated online but even with broadband the update process is quite a download.

I've got firefox somewhere but don't tend to use it as it's very slow :) I'll give it a try tho.

I had the same problem when the site was altered last year, with a grey background and overlapping text etc. A few others had the problem too, but most seemed to be okay, and couldnt understand why I was having trouble. It was suggested I used Firefox, but I didnt bother. I put up with the strange display for about two months (if you click on 'refresh' it should display normally, but you have to do it for each new page). Then, four or five months ago it suddenly righted itself and I've had no display probs since - wierd! :? Maybe yours will improve on its own too. :)

I'll warm me with your echoes

I prefer Firefox, it has far less baggage than Internet Explorer and better safety features. Having viewed the EBS Forum in both IE6 and Firefox 2.0.0.11, I see virtually no difference in page loading times. Perhaps a slow connection speed could be a factor?

Ah, that answers a query of mine on another thread! Moose, why on earth don't you PM Tony or Keith about your password? They will happily sort you out in the shortest of time. Come on, girl; get a grip!
