Hi Julie,
If you click on a person's user name (on one of their messages) you'll get their profile. Then you can click on "send private message" to send them a pm. It will be stored in your outbox. Once they've read it, it will move to your "sent messages" box.
To check pms you've received, click next to "User Control Panel" where it says "1 new message" (or however many.) New messages will be in your inbox. You can save them if you wish, and then they'll be stored in "saved messages."
Hope that helps!
Anita

There is also a small PM symbol at the bottom of the panel containing the name and avatar on each post. Click on this, and you will be taken directly to your compose message box, with the recipient's name already entered.

Yes, and if you do that, the message that person has entered in that post is also quoted.

Thanks for all the info guys. I didn't realize Moonraker (Nigel) about the little symbols for PM at the side.
Thanks

Re: Member search and Private Messages
Isn't there a way to ban PMs from certain members? One of the members on these forums has been keeping on PMing me asking silly questions such as:
What are you searching the forums for?
Why are you on the 'Who's online' page?
I really have been irritated by her PMs and have already told her that if I get another silly PM I'll report her to the admins.
I wish not to get any more PMs from her. Can anyone tell me how to do that?
Thanks,
Adventure.

I cant see how to block someone but you can set up a rule to automatically delete her messages, by clicking on Rules, folders and settings and then select Add New Rule

I hope the person concerned is reading this and that she gets the message, Adventure. If not, please feel free to report her to admin.
It would be best if problems like that were kept off the public Forums as much as possible.

I know this may seem a bit rude, Adventure and I have no intention to squabble or fight with my fellow members but I would recommend you to look into yourself first.Adventure wrote:Isn't there a way to ban PMs from certain members? You bombarded my inbox a few weeks ago urging and pleading me to post on the games forum. And when I say "bombarded" I really mean "bomabrded". Didn't you realise that you were being annoying?
Didn't you ask me such silly question as:
Why aren't you posting in the games forum?
Why aren't you posting in the WAG?
...and the list goes on, really
...and plus he also ordered me around saying:
I understand that you've got to go to school, but you've got to post your questions.
I have no intention to create troubles on this forum, Anita but I just wanted Adventure to know the truth - and plus Silky-Elf (whome Adventure is reffering to I'm sure!) is only a nine year old.
...and yes it would be better not make all this public.
