How kind you are Anita, but sadly emails and ebay and that's my limit! Never mind, will continue to enjoy your lovely illustration! These are my very favourite little books...really charming and innocent..thank you again, liz.

Perhaps if you let one of the administrators know which picture you want, Liz, they'd be able to scan it and add it to your profile?
I don't actually have a copy of the book from which my avatar comes - I scanned the picture from Tony's Enid Blyton Dossier! But I do have Tales About Toys, which has pictures by the same illustrator (Jeanne Farrar) and I agree that they're charming and innocent.

Re: New Layout - Your Comments
I've had a quick look through some books, Liz, and there aren't many good illustrations of Fanny. I did find this one, which I've scaled down to avatar size. It's in profile though, which is a bit of a shame.
It's taken from Treasure Island, opp. p. 106.

Yes, I think I agree with you both. Keith and I will get our heads together and have a think. At least the link is there, in the interim.Lucky Star wrote:I would probably site the Home link up beside the search boxes, I agree with Moonraker that it is a very important link.
Thanks for the feedback, all. I trust you are all getting used to the new layout and software?
Re: New Layout - Your Comments
Yeah, totally used to it now! Thanks, Matt!
BTW Liz, if you would rather go back to the b&w avatar of Fanny, with the trendy hair and cardy, then just say the word! My IT expert (Tony) will fix it!

Yes thanks Matt, I can hardly remember the old layout now. It's become totally like home.Matthew Roberts wrote: I trust you are all getting used to the new layout and software?

As a relative newcomer to this site, the new layout is very user friendly and has a nice comfy feel to it. I like it a lot.

Cheers, guys. I am glad!
Re: New Layout - Your Comments
Having taken time to get used to the changes before jumping in with premature criticism (there's another missing smiley - where's "pompous" - I'm lying anyway, I've been away on holiday ), I can now give the official DSR seal of approval - fine and dandy, I like it. Including the subject line in the top left. Thanks to all those, especially Matt, who've done the work.
What's the font used in the replies? It looks smart, I might use it elsewhere.

Ermm..... a "query".
When I click on the usernames of the members, their avatars are not displayed. However, when clicking on the Admins/Moderator's names, they display all right. I'm confused. It didn't happen before!

I STILL have to keep refreshing to view the pages properly. I think I'll just have to get used to it. But I like the new layout when I can see it.
