we can delete our own though can't we? :) There's a little x in the corner of our own posts and if you press it, they are history.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die.

When I was relatively new to the forums I posted a message which I had intended to be a private message.

I remember being quite worried and asked Keith to delete it for me overnight (from the U.S.).

I didn't know at the time I could delete my own posts - it would have saved me some concern.

I have just noticed that the little X is not there anymore which indicates that there's a window of time when you can delete your own posts and after that, you have to get someone else to delete them.

If someone has replied after your message, the X is gone, meaning you can't delete those. If no-one has replied, you can.

Thanks folks--all very helpful--in the end I just typed "deleted" , having found edit but not delete, so no bother Tony, thanks.
So much to learn..when I was a child I used to think I would enjoy showing my children how things work, but now I find it's not like that at all!

But after a specific term you can't delete your message by crossing out.
Btw,is there a time out function after a certain time?
Recently,I had a talk with my neighbour. After this I wanted to bring my message to a close but it didn't work.I had to log in again. My already written message disappeared
