Number of posts

Post by Ming »

I'm a bit confused about the number of posts we have. My profile says I have 837 messages, yet, when I "Find all posts by Ming", I see it says "Search found 829 matches". It seems to be like that in some other profiles too.

The missing posts come from those threads that were removed when things got a bit tetchy with all the name calling on 'black Thursday'! Some of the things said might not have been a very good advertisement for people considering joining the Forums. Although most of the posts were perfectly polite, the whole thread was removed.

I called in at Tony's this afternoon; his garage door was open and he had disappeared!

Sounds like a conjuring trick. A bit of bad luck actually Nigel as I was only out for ten minutes from 3.00 to 3.10. I am normally out every afternoon for about half an hour at this time, but today it was only ten minutes. If you do find me out you are welcome to help yourself to garden rubbish from my garage - in a desperate attempt to keep it dry in all this wet weather it is starting to pile up a bit.

The Mystery of the Missing Tony is solved!

I did consider clearing out the stuff in your garage, Tony.

Then a beautiful ginger-haired woman walked by, with a child and baby in a buggy.

I fell in love again. She was beautiful.

I found something weird. My profile now shows 856 messages, but on when I click on "View your posts" on the forum index, I get a note saying "Search found 189 messages"!

"Could it be a mystery, Fatty?", asked Bets, eagerly.
"It could be, young Bets," said Fatty, smiling. "We'll call it 'The mystery of the missing messages'". He took out his notebook.

Ooooh ooooh did I miss a forum argument? ;)

Ming, are you sure you're not just searching, for instance, the last month's posts?
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die.

You did. And good thing you did.

I don't know, I just clicked on "View Your Posts" in the Forum Index. Then I get the note saying "Search found 189 messages". If I click on my name, my profile shows eight hundred fifty something messages.

I wanna know about the argument, I wanna know about the argument! How unfair of you to argue whilst I was not there!
