I'd like to come though I can't say at this point and I don't have the faintest idea where Twyford is.

Erm, where is Twyford?

Are your aunt and uncle going to take you to the event, Ming?
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to die.

Hi Moose,

Twyford is in Berkshire. There's an "Enid Blyton Day" link on the Home Page of the site, giving details of last year's Day:

This year, the Enid Blyton Day is on Saturday 12th May. It would be great to see you there!

I'm not sure if there is a more direct route, but you can certainly get the train from Stanstead to London, make your way to Paddington Station by underground, get the train from Paddington to Reading (approx. 20 minutes) and then a train from Reading to Twyford (approx. 5 minutes).

There are also direct trains from London Paddington to Twyford. They stop at a lot of small stations and the journey takes about 45-50 minutes.

Here is the address of a website which may help you plan your journey by train and Tube (Underground.) However, it only gives timetables for the next three months so you will have to wait until the middle of February before it will give you the exact train times for Saturday 12th May.

Oh, miles from where I live *wilts*. Still, if Ming can come from Bangladesh I should at least TRY and make it.

Will you definitely be okay travelling alone? (not to fuss or anything :)). Will there be someone with you at both ends?

Of course. My father wants to send me alone, saying it would be good for me to travel alone, as I have to study abroad. Both he and me applied for a Visa, but I guess I'll go alone. If needed, my father will rush over. And my Great Aunt in London has called her sisters and relatives saying I am coming over soo, if you have any messages give it to Ming etc etc. She spread th news around, not me, I only told Saiqa and my grandparents, now all my relatives seem to know. I suppose that means auntie is willing to help me.

Where were you thinking of studying .. here in the UK or somewhere else? :) I guess it's good for you to get to know the country if it's here.

I do hope I can make it this year Anita, and lets hope Viv doesnt lose her way to the pub again this year..

[Anita Bensoussane]
Hee hee - we'd better not blame Viv, especially when she's not around to defend herself! Besides, I was in the lead car with you if you recall, supposedly directing Keith (though of course, I was acting on instructions from Viv  )!

In any case I should have known not to take directions from a woman, especially when those directions were second hand from another woman! :D

I really wish I could make it this year, but my wife won't allow me to make a trip to England unless she comes too -- and suddenly a quick and affordable trip would cost two and half times more, be three times longer, and four times the hassle. Sigh. If I were able to come on my own, though, I could spend the day with y'all, and the rest of the time scouting out second hand bookshops. If only......

....You could come. By the way Keith, where were you all this time? I don't think I've seen you post for a month or so. Was everything going okay?
