We did bingo over Zoom last night and my cousin was joking about me trying to look posh/intelligent by being the only one to have a bookcase behind me, in light of all the comments about journalists/presenters/ politicians always filming themselves in front of books. It's where I always sit though!

Whether or not those books actually form part of someone's collection doesn't really matter. It's the arrangement of titles that's clever (assuming all those titles do exist, which I haven't checked out).

I did think it was a bit too clever and convenient to be true, but it's funny. Mind you, another dead giveaway is that the author of On the Beach is Nevil Shute, not "Schute". I should know, being from Melbourne.

On The Beach by Nevil Shute is one of the best "disaster" books ever written in my opinion. Although numerous critics have mauled it for the unlikely story line of holding a car race just as the world is about to end, I found it quite moving. I've read most of his work and would recommend him to others.

I have never read that one John - My wife absolutely loves Nevil Shute's books.
I've only read one book by him, but I absolutely loved it, 'Pastoral' published in 1944.

Of course it was clever to make a sentence out of book titles but it’s not nearly as challenging if you can pick from any book title ever created rather than what you have in one location even if you were allowed to order ones online.
