Re: A meet-up in Beaconsfield?
Glad you and Erica got home safely, John, and that you feel your long journey was worth it. It will be good to see you both next year. Also glad that Tony decided to join us - a Blyton Society gathering without our leader would have been like rabbit pie without the rabbit in it! OK - a drink on me next year for the first person who guesses who said that in one of the Blyton Books!
Julie - I will certainly try and see you and Stephen when we come to Cornwall next year. The date may have to be changed, but likely to be early July.
Also sorry that Nigel couldn't join us - hopefully we can arrange the date for next year with plenty of notice to allow as many people to come.

Bets says it about Fatty in one of the Find-Outers books. Can't remember which one, but I'll tell you when I've finished my read-through.Sally wrote:Also glad that Tony decided to join us - a Blyton Society gathering without our leader would have been like rabbit pie without the rabbit in it! It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: A meet-up in Beaconsfield?
Thanks for posting the photos, Julie and Anita! The model village looks very impressive. I hope I will be able to visit it one day. Regarding the potential meet-up next year, I have already started pestering my parents about it! Hopefully I might be able to make it!

Re: A meet-up in Beaconsfield?
Great to see all the photos - and lovely to see the model village, which I've only visited once. about 10 years ago. It's not good news about the house next to Blyton close being pulled down. It's built very much in the same style as Enid's house, if I remember correctly, and it's a real shame if all these get torn down to make way for flats.
Hopefully, one time, I'll be able to join you for a get together - looks like a good time was had by all!

That's a shame, Pete, you should have contacted me and you could have stayed at the hotel Ilsa and I stayed in, they usually can accommodate at a last minute.pete9012S wrote:I almost made it.My Wife was called in to work really late all Friday/Sat leaving me free, but I couldn't sort accommodation out at short notice...

Re: A meet-up in Beaconsfield?
I recognise quite a few people on the photos...but I wonder if someone could post a photo with the names in order underneath, just so those of us who haven't met everyone can put a face to the name? Just an idea.

Thanks for posting the photos, Julie. I can never work out how to do it. Actually, they are Erika's photos. I can never work out how to take a good photo either.
