Re: Enid Blyton Day 2012
Well, I know the British used to be famous for their Mad Minute, which I somehow still cannot do - hard as I try, but you may well have more Mad Moments like that one, Tony.
Once I know about the school holidays, I can say if I can make it. It would be wonderful if I could. Thanks for going thorough the trouble, Tony.
Cheers

Of course it was! Tony never does anything without a purpose! I think missing a year has been beneficial, as my appetite is 'whetter' than ever!Wolfgang wrote:Well, Tony, I don't believe you. I don't believe you had a mad moment that morning, I rather believe it was a well-calculated decision on your behalf. But thanks for going through all the trouble of organizing the Day again.Tony Summerfield wrote:I had a mad moment this morning and I have just booked Loddon Hall for next year's Enid Blyton Day on Saturday May 12th.

Oh fantastic!!!
May 12th is in my calendar ... how I hope I am able to make it.
I would need to bring someone along with me as am actually quite shy and not likely to go and randomly chat to anyone

Don't worry about being alone, Izzy. I went alone on my first E.B. Day, and everyone is very friendly. You'll soon get to know who is who! And you can sit with all the forumites.
Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.

Next year will be my first EB day, too Izzy. The only person I know [in real life] is Pippa-Stef
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Dont worry, the EBS day is a very friendly and sociable event. I knew nobody (in the flesh) when I first attended but within ten minutes of entering the hall I had about ten new friends.izzy_1991 wrote:I don't know anyone.

Within 5 seconds of entering the hall, I had a friend for life. I'll never forget seeing my old mate for the first time!

Surely you had seen Jane in the car when you were driving there! I don't suppose that she is all that flattered in being referred to as your 'old mate' though!

I'd like to come. I think I need to start making plans soon if it is going to be a possibility.

Re: Enid Blyton Day 2012
That goes for me to! I felt sort of lost the first time I went to the EB day, but it's easy to put names to faces when you look at past pictures. It's so easy to bump into people just walking around the hall! Honest!Lucky Star wrote:Dont worry, the EBS day is a very friendly and sociable event.
