Modesty and truthfulness impels me to confirm that John is not speaking with forked tongue!!

Thanks for the tip John Pickup, he is obviously a man of good taste, but unfortunately I don't think we can rise to a £75 bottle at the moment

Don't worry Boodi, it's the thought that counts!
Cheers!

Re: Journal Gems
I'm currently reading Journal Number 22 - there's a fascinating article in there by someone called Alan who interviewed Enid at Green Hedges back in the early 1960s.
All the articles have their merits, but for me, something like that the icing on the cake - someone who actually spoke to Enid, sharing their memories.

Re: Journal Gems
Ah yes - that was Alan Blaikley, whom I once got talking to at an Enid Blyton Day. He was really friendly and chatty. It may have been the same Enid Blyton Day at which his songwriting partner Ken Howard (writer and director of the 1992 'Bookmark' Sunny Stories programme about Enid Blyton) gave a talk. Alan Blaikley died a few months ago and I learnt from his obituary that he and Ken Howard had written songs for artists/groups like Elvis Presley and The Bay City Rollers:

Re: Journal Gems
Thanks for the link Anita. Sad news, I had hoped he might have seen my comment about enjoying his article - sadly I wasn't a member when the Journal was published, so didn't see it at the time.
