Journals Available

Post by Nick »

Hi all,

I'm looking to find a good home to my journal collection. I've ever issue from 42 onwards, the odd one or two have some slight "modifications" thanks to my youngsters. I'm not looking for any money for them, although covering postage would be great.

Feel free to reply or drop me a PM if you are interested.

Hi Nick. I would be very happy to pay postage for numbers 54,55,56,58,59, and 60 if possible?

Regards

Pete

Hi Nick, I would be delighted to take the issues that Pete does not want and more than happy to pay for the postage to Germany, if you tell me how best to proceed with the payment.

Would you both be kind enough to DM your addresses - for some reason my browser/lap top doesnt seem to like the DM section of the board??

I'll drop by the post office tomorrow and get some costs for you both.

I've sent you both DMs with the P&P details on but I have no idea if you'll get them as my browser really doesn't like DMs

Hi Nick.
Yes I received your message successfully and have just sent you a payment via paypal.

(I have rounded up the amount you requested a bit if that's ok Nick, as I am so grateful to be able to add these missing Journals to my collection.)

Best Wishes and thank you very much for this extremely kind gesture once again.

Pete

Thanks Nick!
I have also sent you payment via Paypal, although I regret that I did not round up the amount, probably because I was shocked at having to pay an extra fee on the transaction because the UK is no longer in the EU.

Looking forward to receiving the journals in due course and many thanks for your kindness.

Great many thanks both, just posted them at our local Post Office so they should be with you soon. Thanks for giving them a good home, I've really enjoyed reading and re-reading them over the years!

Hi Nick, I will reply here in case my pm gets lost in the ether!

I'm really glad you have now received the postage through paypal, and thank you very much once again for making these hard to find editions available to me.

I am most grateful to you.

Best Wishes

Pete

I will let you know as soon as they arrive, although the post here at present is very slow and I heard today that a letter I posted on Monday to an address in a neighbouring town (a mere 10 kms. south of here) only arrived this morning.

Now I'm curious - more than in the past? There have always been fees if the payment is not in Euro (no matter if a country is in the EU or not).

I've never used Paypal for purchases from abroad but pay for my server and domain charges in US Dollars to the hosting company in the USA and my monthly subscription in Euros to the Berlin Phiharmoniker in Germany with my debit card. Whilst I am always charged the current prevailing exchange rate at the time the charge is made, which is a lot better than the so-called 'tourist rates' you receive when buying currency, there is always a separate charge on top of that, imposed by my own bank and shown separately on my statement, of 2.75% of the Pound Sterling amount charged to my debit card.

Now I'm puzzled. I'm sure Paypal showed me that I had to pay extra fees because the currency wasn't Euro - but now in my Paypal list nothing like that is stated. And I was charged exactly that sum even though usually my credit card company takes extra fees if I don't pay in Euro. But I think Paypal only "told" them the amount in Euro.
I'll have a closer look when I renew my subscription for the journal the next time. Maybe it's shown differently while paying and then later on. In the mail I got after paying for the journal it's stated that an "exchange rate fee" (Wechselkursgebühr) was charged - so maybe that was shown separately during the payment process.
