Re: Journal 60
Awaiting our post eagerly...although we rarely have anything but junk on a Monday, so I'm sure The Journal won't arrive!

We often have no post at all on Mondays - today the Journal was the only thing that arrived. I've already read two articles.... now I must be strong minded and delay further delights until later.

Re: Journal 60
Received mine this morning. I've already read Anita's interesting article about The Happy House Trilogy and also 'A Letter from Buster'. I nearly left the letter until later, but, realised it was very short. Looking forward to reading Nick Hopkins article (part 3) about the making of ITV's Castle of Adventure.
Incidentally the envelope was open when it arrived and I was wondering whether there had been a renewal reminder from Tony in it- I've lost count!

I'll probably see the journal at the end of August, as I am on holidays. But at least that is something to wait for!! I love when the journal arrives

Re: Journal 60
There is always good stuff in the Journal, I'm pleased to see articles by Anita, Rob, Julie, John Pickup and others but best of all we have bumper lot of things from Enid herself. In the periodicals section of the Cave I often read those teasing first lines of Enid's journalism and wish I could read the whole thing and here we have an article I've long wanted to read; "Children's Reading" from the St Martin's Review. Illustrated with pictures from Girl and Eagle comics, I recognised Dan Dare, Lettice Leefe, Harris Tweed and Belle of the Ballet. I think the other two are Robbie of Red Hall and P.C.49 (please correct me if I'm wrong).
My grateful thanks to contributors and of course to the editor for all the work he puts into making the Journal such a super magazine.

My Journal came today too and I've already read a few articles over lunch — I'll probably share some comments when I've read more. Many thanks to all contributors and especially to Tony for pulling it all together as always!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Still no post here...but that might just mean it hasn't arrived yet. Our post can come any time between 8am and 5pm. Looks like I won't be getting anything today though!

Re: Journal 60
Finally - mine just arrived! 4pm and we get our post! Looks great!
Just scanning through Anita's article, I was interested to read of her theories regards that mysterious anonymous Dean illustrator. I wondered if it was maybe Dorothy Hall a few months ago, when I compared her illustrations in the book 'Enid Blyton Story Book For Fives to Sevens' with the Galliano and Happy House illustrations in the Dean books. They are very, very similar in style.

I'm away from home at the moment, so will have to wait for a while until I can read mine.

Compare the illustrations on the Contents page too, Rob, as I also think that the Galliano ones are by Dorothy Hall after looking at those.Rob Houghton wrote:Finally - mine just arrived! 4pm and we get our post! Looks great!

Another superb journal - beautifully arranged with a great selection of images. We are so lucky
to have this standard of journal and all at a remarkably cheap price. So far I have read and loved
Anita's, Julie's, John Pickup's, Robert's and Angela's articles. Still lots more to read and enjoy.
