Names that Enid used less frequently?

Is there definitely a Cyril in Five Go Off to Camp, Daisy, or are you thinking of Cecil? I remember Cecil Dearlove, but is there a Cyril as well?

I've got 'Prince Paul Percival' in The Teacher's Treasury, Volume 2. It's more a song than a poem as it's set to music by Alec Rowley. The words are as follows:

Prince Paul Percival
Wouldn't ride his pony,
Said he "It's very out of date, and
Feels rather bony!"

"Hie there Chamberlain!
Buy a motor, quick!
That's the sort of thing I want, for
Cars won't kick!"

But oh my! Percival
Drove so very fast,
That trees and walls and other things
Simply whizz'd past!

"Woa Woa gently now,
Don't you gallop so,"
Percival commanded, but the
Car wouldn't wo!

Bang Smash! Deary me,
Just what I was fearing,
Any car would run away with
Prince Paul steering!

Poor Prince Percival
Found the road was stony,
Said he "Well after all I think I'll
Ride my pony."

His name reminds me of Percival Jonathan Jenks, the boy in the short story 'The Silly Storyteller.'

Incidentally, looking at the list of names I wouldn't say that Richard is used less frequently. As well as Richard Kent in Five Get Into Trouble, there's Richard in the Naughtiest Girl series (who plays duets with Elizabeth), Richard in Six Cousins at Mistletoe Farm (who owns Lordly-One), Richard Lynton in the Barney series, and no end of Dicks who might be Richards!

I thought the same as Anita with regard to Richard, which appears quite a few times and of course Dick is a diminutive of Richard.
Other less frequent names are Twigg and Tammylan.

I have a feeling that names changed to more 'modern' ones in the 1960s books - but because I don't like them so much I haven't got them to hand.

No, I never heard of Major Ellis Gathergood (or at least I don't think I have!). Two other less frequently used names are Prince Paul's "men" Ranni and Pilescu (spelling?).

I didn't want to mention any of the circus names as they tend to be 'made-up' names rather than actual ones. Same with many of her African (and other 'foreign') characters.
