Mister Meddle's muddled book-covers

I was looking at the covers of the Mister Meddle books in the Cave and noticed the cover of the 1972 Dragon edition of "Mister Meddle's Muddles" looked like a picture of Mr Pink-Whistle. I had a look at the Pink-Whistle books and sure enough the cover illustration of "The Adventures of Mr Pink-Whistle" (Dragon 1972) shows Meddle behind the sofa hiding from Aunt Jemima and the sewing-circle ladies, an incident from the story 'Mister Meddle and the Birds', which is in "Mister Meddle's Mischief"! I suppose this mix-up is only what we can expect from Mister Meddle but it's a shame Mr Pink-Whistle couldn't put this wrong thing right!

I can't believe this hasn't been noticed before but I can't find any mention of it on the forums. Has anyone spotted this error before?

I myself often get confused between Mr Muddle, Mr pink-Whistle and Mr Twiddle!!!

Very interesting. All my Meddle/Pink-Whistle/Twiddle books are the hardbacked Dean versions.

Very interesting. Also quite poor editorial control. A good job Enid wasn't around to see the mess. She would surely have had something to say.
