World Book Day 2017

Post by Tony Summerfield »

This will be the first Enid Blyton book to be published for World Book Day! It is not in the Cave as I don't know where to put it.

That's great - although I did smile at the phrase 'fantastic new illustrations'... ;-)

I have 'Good Old Timmy' in 'The Famous Five Annual' - complete with lovely full colour illustrations. 8)

I'll warm me with your echoes

It's great that there's to be an Enid Blyton book for World Book Day :D - and it will help promote the new Famous Five illustrator. I just wish that something less obvious than the Famous Five had been chosen. An Enid Blyton nature selection might have been good, containing stories and poems and nature notes. Or how about a collection of humorous stories, e.g. uncollected or rarely-used tales featuring characters like Binkle & Flip, Mister Meddle and Simple Simon? Alternatively, has the Galliano's Circus story from Enid Blyton's Omnibus! been used in recent years?

I've never heard of World Book Day, but this is pretty remarkable! I'll be looking forward to getting a copy next year.
