It is confusing about the sides. Interesting to see it though!

Technically that's feedback Rob because it's about the service you received not the product although I do sympathize.Rob Houghton wrote:And yet I tried to place a review on Amazon US that mentioned their shoddy delivery and processing speeds (ordered March 7 - delivered yesterday - cost - around £20 postage - and they told me they couldn't post the review because the subject wasn't relevant!

I agree - although I did review the item at the same time. However, Amazon UK allowed me to post the review with no question!

I found this article in an online Irish newspaper:

I agree with every word! It's nice to see some praise for The Land of Far Beyond too.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Thanks for posting the link, Kate Mary. How refreshing to read an article which whole-heartedly and unapologetically praises Enid Blyton! I agree with his comments both about the adult travesties, and about Enid's own work.

Re: Famous Five 'Adult' Books!
It is good to see praise for The Land of Far-Beyond in particular but I wish the article had attempted to convey some of the joy and wonder of Enid Blyton's writing instead of concentrating on the current trend for trashing one's childhood reading. The Land of Far-Beyond is a remarkable story that deserves to be more widely known but this article fails to give a flavour of it. Images of the book covers (Land of Far-Beyond, First Christmas and Noah's Ark) would also have been of benefit as they're beautiful books in style and quality as well as content.

What awful colouring of the photo, it looks more like Dame Edna Everage that Enid Blyton! Reading the article I get the impression that the journalist has no idea that both Hodder and Quercus have the same owner!!

Well thank goodness the Five book is not credited to Enid Blyton!

Interesting figures, Eddie, though umpteen copies sold doesn't necessarily mean umpteen copies read!

Re: Famous Five 'Adult' Books!
I'm interested to hear that the photo of Enid has been coloured...its always been coloured as far as I know - I've seen it on the internet for years. Looks like one of the coloured photos of the mid 1950's that often appeared in books etc.
As for Brexit Island being on the best sellers list, as I've said before, it's purely because of the title. How many books do you know that name 'Brexit' in the title? people have just bought copies as a history thing rather than to read it, I'm sure.
