What Enid Blyton book have you recently bought?

The books! Over seven hundred of them and still counting...

That reminds me Wolfgang - we had "Pictorial Knowledge" when I was a child. I have no idea what happened to them though.

I have about 4 Pictorial Knowledge books - they belonged to my granddad and he gave them us when we were kids. I still have them. I used to particularly like the 'fold out diagrams' - I remember one of a bee - and also the volume that had loads of poems by famous authors, including Enid herself.
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

It was where I first read 'Who has seen the wind, Neither you or I' by Christina Rossetti, and also ''The Fairies (Up the rushy mountain) by William Allingham, as well as 'When Icicles hang by the wall and Dick the shepherd blows his nail' by Shakespeare. :-D

I suppose it shouldn't be that hard to get copies again, Daisy - I paid for all 7 books 19,5€ (postage included).

I found 'Second Form at...' and 'Claudine at...' St Clare's this afternoon for 50p each. However, they're both Egmont 2005 editions. According to the spines, Second Form is Book 4 while Claudine is Book 7. Which suggests that Books 5 and 6 are non-Blytons which have suddenly become canonical! ! I might seek them them one day, but not until I've read the originals first! :x

Bought Tiny Tales with dust jacket remains intact and it is one of the obscure non-Birn* titles. It is so scarce that I had almost lost all hopes to find it. It is equivalent to Let’s Pretend in term of obscurity. However, both books could not challenge Benjy And The Others when it comes to scarcity!

*The majority of Birn titles are impossible to find.

I have Tiny Tales - but not with a dust wrapper. I didn't realise it was so rare? I bought mine quite a while ago, but even without a wrapper it was £8 so I guess it must be quite difficult to find.

It reminds me a lot of 'Tales of Betsy May' which I love.

You are very lucky, Rob. :D

Where did you buy it? I had been searching for it for so long in online market and had only found it.

There is another book with the same title published by Mulberry in 1992.

I can't remember, but I THINK it was one of the 'Enid Blyton days' :-D Its a first edition. :-D

the most recent book I've bought is another St Clare's book as I'm slowly collecting them in dust jackets. I only had them without jackets but now I have three in jackets. Summer Term At St Clare's arrived today in a very good wrapper from eBay. :-)

Thanks for letting me know and well done on your new purchase! :D

You will complete St. Clare’s series in no time. One of the easy series to collect. I bought my copies with dust jackets cheaply.

Merged with an existing topic.

I was lucky enough to find 17 of the 21 Famous Five books in a charity shop today at the bargain price of 20p each, just need to find the others now to complete the set :)
