Thank you.Yes it is quite a nice place to settle down and read but my favourite place would be a lighthouse..maybe somewhere in Cornwall..We did visit one last year right on the western tip of Cornwall called Pendeen lighthouse..its surrounded by old tin mines and some wild, rugged cliffs..imagine sat in there on a stormy night..reading Demons Rocks.
Two trees, gloomy water, saucy Jane and Maggie knows.

I would have thought Dickens' The Signalman would be a good read on one of your night shifts, cramtheman!

I didn't get to say "hello" on the site to you, Crantheman, but I do recall someone coming to the shop having been in Cornwall - it may have been you!
(Last summer was so busy it's a bit of a haze...)
I think a signalbox sounds a great place to read Blyton on a nightshift!

As crantheman hasn't visited since August, I hope he hasn't suffered the same fate as the Signalman...

Since I have recently joined the forum I decided to reread some of my favourite enid blyton books which I havent opened for years. I have started with the book that was my favourite book as a child - Five go to smugglers top. I remember being both thrilled and scared at the same time, it is great to finally reread it again, there were so many parts I had forgotten and hadn't picked up on as a child.
I think people make their own faces, as they grow - Enid Blyton

Well Really, Mr. Twiddle! Not the most challenging of books, but a nice gentle read just before I turn off the light.

I'm not sure if this will work as a thread or not but I thought it worth a try
What is your current EB read?
For me it's The Secret Seven - rather appropriate given the weather!!

I just finished reading the Adventures of Mr. Pink Whistle, and just before that, I read the Enid Blyton Book of Brownies.

I've just read the Mr. Twiddle trilogy. Predictable stories (well, I've read them several times before so that doesn't help!), but I thoroughly enjoyed the fun and mayhem.

I'm afraid I haven't read a Blyton for over a year! I have such a backlog of new books to read, it will be a while before I can lose myself in Enid again!

When I was a child I was in a Book-Lovers' Club with my sister and two friends. One of the rules was that members must read at least one Enid Blyton book a year!
