Bring my Bed Back

Post by Moonraker »

I have a memory of being in my bed, tearing down the road. I was between 3 and 6, and I can vividly remember looking over the covers and seeing that I was just above road level - as I would have been, travelling on my bed. It was so realistic, I have never felt as if it were a dream. Imagine my surprise to find this in the Book-Listings. Could I have read this or had it read to me prior to going asleep? The picture on the front could well be as it was for me, way back in the early 50s.

Whoa! Surreal!

I was once told that dreams were our brains way of filing away images that we had seen in the day, that flashed before our "eyes" and created a dream!

It would probably be possible that you saw the cover or read the book at some point during that day and dreamt about it that night, Nigel!

Just thought I'd offer my opinion! :D
"You're so sharp you'll cut yourself one day!" Hunchy said going to the door
"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

Another explanation is that it could really have happened, and Nigel and his bed soared over Green Hedges, Enid looking out from her window spotted it, thought what a good story that would make, and proceeded to write. :D

Just a thought :D
Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.
"See that? It's the black Bentley again. KMF 102!"

It didn't really seem like a dream - I am sure in my own mind that it really happened. I had a nightmare around the age of 5, that I was being chased by a coal lorry. It was in the centre of Salisbury, and every corner I turned, upon looking around, I found it there. That, I know, was a dream. How is it that you can remember a dream that happened 50 years ago?

I've just read The Bed That Ran Away (eBay £1.95) and it doesn't bear any resemblance to the story in my mind. I didn't get the feeling that I'd previously read it, either.

The mystery deepens. There's a lot more in heaven and earth and our brain that we know nothing about. :D
