And let it be forever Spring!"

Diana quotes the same thing in Chapter 10 of The Ring O' Bells Mystery, though she says "thy fleeting wing." I was wondering whether anyone knows where the quotation comes from?
I've just come across these lines in Enid Blyton's own poem, "Maytime," in the 1942 Sunny Stories calendar. So Uncle Merry and Diana were both quoting Enid Blyton!

That's really interesting, Anita: I'd often wondered who they were quoting!

Nothing like a bit of self-promotion, I suppose!
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

This book is brilliant! I appreciate that I'm last to the party here, and preaching to the converted, but I just wanted to register my new-found love for this title! Have had a battered 1947 copy for ages - never bothered opening it  But I had an early night last night and picked it up purely because I was in one of those moods where you just can't find a book to suit - and grudgingly started it. I was almost instantly converted. Charming, atmospheric, classic Blytonia. I loathed biology and all its off-shoots at school, but now I want to wander country lanes and understand nature, lol  It's amazing how Enid Blyton can engage a person in subjects they never thought they'd like, at any age. Wish I'd had this book as a child.

Does anyone know if this book is a combination of Enid's books All Year Round with the four seasons, Winter, Autumn, Spring and Summer. Or is it a completely different nature book that Enid wrote.

My copy has all four seasons in it, I don't know about the newer copy. I think mine's 1947!

"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

Okay Steph, thanks for that. It's just that I have All Year Round with Enid Blyton Autumn, which I reviewed for the site, and now I've bought Winter, so I guess I only have to collect Summer and Spring and it will be the same as the above title.

Enid Blyton's Nature Lover's Book does have information on the seasons, as Pippa-Stef said, but it is presented in the form of nature walks with Uncle Merry. There are also sections on flowers, trees, birds, poems, stories and things to do. The content is not the same as the four booklets Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. However, those four booklets were collected by Evans into one volume called Round the Year with Enid Blyton.

Okay, thanks for that Anita. I've spotted the Nature Lovers book in the shops, so might give it a look.
