As i mentioned in my previous post I'm researching The Old Cottage in Beckenham in terms of a link to Enid Blyton.
Someone has said that they think it was the building that she based Noddy's house on - anyone happen to know if that could be true?
Details of the Cottage here:

Anyone know which building Noddy's House was based on?

Re: Anyone know which building Noddy's House was based on?
I tend to think she just based Noddy's house on a typical toy house that could be built with building blocks of the day. It only had one room, and no upstairs, but she doesn't give us many details apart from calling it a 'house-for'one'. Most of our impression of how it looked comes from Beek's original illustrations, rather than Enid's description, but it looks absolutely nothing like the house in the link you provided, so I'm puzzled as to how it could be said to have inspired Enid when she invented Noddy's house!
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

Thanks so much for your reply- I knew someone here would have sensible info!
I am still struggling to find a link between Enid Blyton and the cottage but there could be one as it was so close to her house.

Just imagine Noddy living in a house like that!
