The signature looks fake to me as well. However what really intrigues me here is how Tony knew the book when no details are given in the picture. :?

Thanks to all for the clarification.
Anyone fancy telling the seller the autograph is a dud?

The illustrator (Bip Pares) only illustrated one book for Enid Blyton!

Doubt it, Pete. Probably keep the postcard and offer it for sale though.

I wish this seller would post a clearer/nearer picture of the signature!

After enlarging it myself, it doesn't look quite right (to me)??

That one is genuine, Pete, but it is rather a messy page - I don't even have to look all that closely at the signature as I can see that it is right from the 'love from'.

Thank you Tony. I appreciate your confirmation.
I didn't know Enid occasionally wrote a loop on the L Blyton which is why it confused me.

An experts opinion on authenticity would be interesting as this book was published in 1967.

I'm afraid this one is a definite forgery - I hope you haven't bought it!

Many thanks for that info Tony.
Something about the date of 1967 made me hesitate from buying it and ask for a superior opinion.

Best Wishes

I can't really see Enid scrawling her signature over the front of a book. Always sensible to check with the master!

Yes!

The book was part of a larger collection for sale at £2,249.00

I have received an offer to buy the whole collection for £1,995 from the seller, but I can't see enough detail/info/ condition of the books to see if this price is remotely reasonable!

This signature doesn't look right to me - but I usually get these things wrong!
