I've been admiring your portrait Nigel. What a talented lady Julie is; a writer and an artist. I can't draw for toffee and get writers' block when faced with a blank screen/sheet of paper. It's not fair. My talents seem to be washing-up and ironing.

Re: Enid and the changing world
Thank you, Kate Mary. Although you say 'writer' I wish I was, as I only think a 'writer' is someone who is published. And none of my work is published, (apart from the illegal one of course), and I don't class myself as an artist, as I'm not professional, just a lovely hobby for me. But I loved reading your comment, and thinking - if only!Kate Mary wrote:I've been admiring your portrait Nigel. What a talented lady Julie is; a writer and an artist.

Julie is one of the vital linchpins of the various forums she shares in...I should know,I've had enough slaps off her to last me several lifetimes!!
(probably get a slap for that too!)

Re: Talents
Thank you Francis and Kate Mary. Being so handsome and photogenic is a cross I've had to bear all of my life. It hasn't been easy to stay monogamous whilst fighting off women (and some men) on a regular basis.
Julie hides her light under a bushel. You don't have to be published to be a writer, anymore that you need to be hung in the National Gallery to be a painter.

I'm glad I'm not a painter, don't fancy the idea of being hung in the national gallery! Oh my neck has suddenly started to hurt.
If I could live here on this secret island always and always and always, and never grow up at all, I would be quite happy

It's amazing how a thread changes from a reasonable observation into an anatomical discussion.

I didn't know we had a thread about stupid tea... I thought it was a thread about very good tea. (Although Nigel may not agree with that assessment.)Julie2owlsdene wrote: I guess I'll be blamed too then for the stupid tea thread!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
