Re: Enid Blyton - The Untold Story
Heh - all my Journal articles and online posts about Enid Blyton probably add up to several books!
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.
"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

That's true Jack, I had forgotten about that!
How have you been? Are you tempted to buy the book?

Carey Blyton also composed incidental music for some Doctor Who stories in the 1960s.

We could crowd fund it, Anita, if it helps. Maybe not to the tune of 20k, though. How about £200 and we all get signed copies?
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

I have apparently "reported-successfully" a post from pete9012s that I was merely quoting and replying to... No idea how and no stain on him intended

I'm, as I was trying to say, interested in the book-and stalled only by huge numbers that I have yet to read- puzzled by Brian's change in attitude towards the E.B. site

Looks like you inadvertently clinked the exclamation mark icon instead of the quote marks, Jack and didn’t notice there was no quote in your post (which wasn’t a post). That will confuse Anita.

Re: Enid Blyton - The Untold Story
I was just about to remind everyone about that, being an Aussie! Actually, technically Carey Blyton wrote the song "Bananas in Pyjamas", which was picked up by the Australian children's TV show Play School — it used to feature quite regularly, with a little animation, back in the 1980s when I was little. Then a few years later, in the early 1990s, someone decided to do a whole programme based on the song, with two bananas and three teddies as the main characters. I've never been able to work out why the teddies were given proper names — Morgan, Lulu and Amy — but the bananas were the terribly uninventive B1 and B2! But it did give rise to the legendary catchphrase: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, B1?" "Yes, I think I am, B2!" "It's ______ time!" (party time, trick time, or whatever they'd simultaneously decided to do... I think they had that exchange in every episode!) The show was a huge hit, but I'm sure I read somewhere that Carey Blyton wasn't happy with it — I think it was something about him not getting fair royalties for the use of his song, unfortunately.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

The icons are very close together on a smartphone. The lack of a quote was immediately apparent- but, I was more concerned about the "reported-successfully".Grateful for the explanation of what had gone wrong, Boatbuilder. That particular post was abandoned and a reply (without a quote) was used instead-safer!Boatbuilder wrote: ↑12 Jun 2021, 22:40Looks like you inadvertently clinked the exclamation mark icon instead of the quote marks, Jack and didn’t notice there was no quote in your post (which wasn’t a post). Re: Enid Blyton - The Untold Story
There was also a children's tv programme in the UK called "Play School", Courtenay- did Australia make their own version- or did they use ours I wonder?

Not Courtney replying but another Aussie. Australia had it's own version of Play School with Aussie presenters.

Don Spencer appeared in both the British and Australian versions of Play School.
