As this new DVD has got completely lost in a jumble of fairly irrelevant posts I thought I had better give it its own thread. I put it into the Society Shop a week ago and nobody seems to have noticed it, or if they have they just aren't interested in it, as I haven't had a single PayPal order!
I haven't got copies of this myself as I am selling it on behalf of the producers and at present this is the only outlet they have. For any orders I get, I will forward the name and address and the money straight to them, and they will send out the DVDs. It is a non profit-making venture and they are simply trying to recover their costs. If the DVD does sell well, any profit they make is being donated to Seven Stories.
OK the situation is rectified slightly as I have just bought one. £11.66 seems like a bargain actually. I will review it when I receive it.

Not sure whether I want to buy it and watch it before going to Beckenham in person, or after I've been. Decisions, decisions.

If I wasn't having a scrooge month I would snap it up and buy it. Because it would probably make good viewing for the night before Beckenham. If I ordered at the beginning of June I don't know if I would get it in time.
Bother having to be on a budget.

That's a shame Stef. I shouldn't encourage you to get into debt, but couldn't your ask your parents to get it for you and you pay them back next month?
I have just watched this and enjoyed it very much. It has certainly made me wish that I was going on the outing to Beckenham next month. It's fairly short but very informative and contains many old photos and memorabilia of Enid. There are also excerpts from interviews with both Enid and her brother Carey. The producers did a good job of presenting Enid's early life through these articles and specially acted sequences.
Very enjoyable and I'm sure those going to Beckenham next month would want a copy to remind them of the places they will have visited. Nice to see our own Tony credited in both the small booklet and on the film itself.

Can I make a plea for anybody from overseas buying it to make sure that they click on the right postage as I have to pass on the correct postage to Mike Shaw even if it hasn't been paid!

If only I could Katharine but as my parents let me live at home rent free at the moment, I try not to ask them for things like this. Plus I have an expensive month next month and I shouldn't.
Maybe if I get this job I've applied for I may be able to but not yet me thinks.
LS, I'm glad that it was good as some of these things can be hit and miss as I'm sure you know. I shall look forward to seeing it when I get a chance to.

I see what you mean Stef, I'd be reluctant to ask my parents if I was in the same situation. Fingers crossed on the new job. Maybe you could just happen to leave this thread open on the computer when you know they are walking past though?
John, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the DVD, it sounds interesting - I have my cheque ready to send off on Monday for a copy.
That is the trailer that Mike Shaw showed at the Enid Blyton Day last year. It has since been considerably improved and of course the soundtrack has now been added.
