Thanks for that, Soenke. I don't think the Dryenfurth is actually a pseudonym as it appears in the 1901 census - http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss ... =seo&hc=20. I would love to hear the three poems. It's a bit strange Enid Blyton being sung by an opera player but who knows, she might go to the top of the charts.

I'm afraid there are mistakes in the article. It states:

Mr Watkins, from the Beckenham Civic Society, discovered three poems in the pages of a magazine from 1917 with two of them definitely written by Miss Blyton and the other thought to be written by her, but with the byline Maud Dyrenfurth.

The three poems haven't been discovered by Cliff Watkins - they were discussed in Barbara Stoney's Enid Blyton - the Biography back in 1974. The first poem, 'Have You - ?', is reproduced in Enid Blyton - the Biography, while 'I Have' and 'My Summer Prayer' are mentioned by name. Barbara Stoney writes that Enid was "overjoyed" to see Maud Dyrenfurth's reply in the form of the poem 'I Have', which suggests that Enid didn't write it herself. The poems were printed in different issues of Nash's Magazine in March, June and August 1917. A fourth poem, 'Do You - ?' appeared in September 1918.

It's interesting that the first three poems have been set to music, though.

It might just be worth adding that all three poems that Enid wrote are actually in the Cave and have been there for quite a while! Needlees to say the Dyrenfurth one isn't and it wasn't written by Enid Blyton.

What beautiful poems, I love the use of the word 'busyful' when describing the bees. To think she wrote wrote them when she was living just a short walk away from where I'm sitting now. I wonder if she was thinking of anywhere local when she wrote them.

Tony, I never realised they were in the Cave. I have dipped into the papers section a few times, but sadly anything I've tried to look up just gives the first line. I do appreciate the amount of hours it would take to scan and upload everything into the Cave, so that's not a criticism, just an explanation as to why I wouldn't have thought to look there.
