Anna, my dear, you are just perfect as you are. Don't fall into the trap of wanting to be different to how you are. You are not obese, you are not ugly; you are just an attractive young girl with the whole of her life in front of her. I met you recently, and I liked what I saw!

By the way, I have always been attractive, lean and fit.

He's right Anna! Three bet's you'll shoot up in time anyway! You're Dad's pretty tall isn't he? If I'm remembering correctly that is! :D

"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

For some reason I had always imagined Enid Blyton was around 5ft tall.
It was quite a surprise to learn that she was quite tall at 5ft 7 ".

My Wife is around 5ft 9" and I am about three inches taller than her. She said I was just about the minimum height of man she would consider dating as she had been asked out previously by some 5ft guys, and with her heels she felt the height difference was a little too much.

I reminded her of this lately and pointed out 'vertical lift' hasn't affected the 5ft 4" Jamie Cullum!

I haven't read the rest of this thread...not lately anyway - but I would presume Enid was certainly not 'petite'. From all her photos she looks a 'strapping gal' as they might say in Malory Towers - and very broad shouldered, due to her tennis playing and golf and the long daily swims around the pier and back when she was in Swanage, etc. 8)

Meanwhile, I'm 5' 10 1/2" - which in the 1980's made me the third tallest in our class.
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

(E. Blyton, Sunday Times, 1951)
