A super letter, Matthew. :D I also like the Family books.
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

A nice letter, Matthew. When I was young, I used to wish I could live in a caravan as the family do in one of the books.

Enid Blyton had a very fertile imagination. As a girl she enjoyed telling stories to her brothers, and when she went to bed at night stories would flood into her mind. Therefore, it's not surprising that she became an author. She loved writing and liked receiving letters from her young readers. She would reply to as many as possible.
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

A beautiful letter and lovely questions. The Family Collection is lovely. The Caravan Family reminds me of the poem ''I wish I lived in a caravan/With a horse to drive, like the pedlar man!" It's a lovely poem - read it if you find it.
