Re: Filming of 1970s Five Have a Wonderful Time
Thanks, Gary, I'll watch the episode tonight, and see if I can spot those coloured lead windows.
I emailed them to see if they accept dogs, but sadly they don't! So I can't stay there for a night to have a nosy round!

That's a real shame, Julie. Its a pity there's no one who could take your dog in for the night. Unless you sneak your dog into Rhinefield, just like George did with Timmy at Smugglers Top!!Julie2owlsdene wrote:I emailed them to see if they accept dogs, but sadly they don't! At least Rosie is smaller than Timmy and potentially easier to hide...

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

True, Courtenay, but she is quite heavy.

I've a cunning plan, Julie! Cut some holes in the bottom of your suitcase, place your dog inside with its legs through the holes & zip the case up, then casually walk into the hotel. The receptionist will automatically assume your luggage is on wheels! Collect your keys & calmly walk away, trying not to let anyone see the smug look of satisfaction on your face!

Not a very innovative idea, Nr 6 - in one of the Voilier books George used this idea to get Tim into public transportation (Les Cinq se mettent en Quatre = Five and the Pink Pearls).

I could try this, but who is going to buy me a suitcase with the holes already cut out!

Hi Julie
Thought I'd let you know if your looking for "five adventure" Burley Manor hotel "smugglers top" accept dogs a small fee to pay.... Unfortunately they don't allow children there much to my 8 year old nieces disappointment as she wants to stay at "smugglers top!"

Thanks for the info, Helenbee. I'll be in the New Forest in a couple of weeks, and so will check that out.
