"Enid" scheduled for DVD release

Post by Redrachel76 »

I just thought it would interest others here to know that the "Enid" drama based on her life and starring Helene Bonham-Carter has already got a release date scheduled 12 October 2009
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Enid-DVD/dp/B00 ... 261&sr=1-5

Of course DVD releases can always be rescheduled. So I would not take this as a definite date yet. Amazon is the only place listing it at the moment. As someone who lives outside the UK and who won't be able to watch it on TV, I'm pleased that I'll be able to buy the DVD.

Thanks, Rachel. That's very good news.

Just a cautionary note for people outside the UK - you will need to ensure that format of this DVD is compatible with the players in your country. For instance, I wouldn't be able to play this DVD in the States because Britain uses one of the PAL systems, but the US uses NTSC and the two are not compatible. Other countries use other DVD formats which only complicates things more. The bottom line is you can't always purchase DVDs in other countries and bring them home to watch. I have tried this and have been burnt.

Fear not 70's-Child, PAL-NTSC was more of a problem with the old VHS tapes. Region coding is more of an issue where DVDs are concerned. Happily, most DVD players will just about play anything that you throw at them. It is possible to make most DVD players multi region by means of a four digit code from the remote control, one only has to Google the Make/model to obtain the desired information.

Redrachel76,
Thanks a lot for your information. I have in fact clicked on that amazon icon you
have furnished and I have been informed that I will be alerted when that item becomes available
in my neck of the woods.
