We only meet once a year as it is, let alone meet the endless number of times needed to rehearse a play!
This is a Green Knight Book which means that it is a book by one of the most popular authors of all.

I think so. I cant see that many people paying and travelling to see us lot acting out The Mystery of the Burnt Cottage.Pippa-Stef wrote:Does that mean "No" Tony?
As regards the '78 series I think all of the 26 episodes did air at the time. The imdb site gives all the episodes and their original air dates which are all in the years 1978/79.

Ooh something to moan about. Excellent. Truly you are too good to us Tony.Have a look as I am sure it will provide something further to moan about!

I know Tony said that it was all wishful thinking, but this surely borders on the "it ain't ever gonna happen!"

If this continues Anita's initial idea of how an Enid Blyton Society meeting might be will become a reality: everyone arriving dressed as Noddy and Big Ears!!!

Oh I wouldn't trust a word of IMDB's FF entries. Seriously. It's nonsense.Lucky Star wrote:

But yeah, they were all shown, but some only on t'other side of the 1979 ITV strike which is why people often list it as three series. There were only two but the second was divided by months of ITV off-air-ness

Re: The New Famous Five
I agree with you about the IMDB, Gary - for example they list Castle of Adventure as one of the episodes in the Adventure Series that was filmed in New Zealand, and it doesn't exist!
As I said in my earlier post the details I have are actually taken from the TV Times:-
Second Series (initially shown on Southern)
1. Five Get Into Trouble (part 1) - Nov 19 1978
2. Five Get Into Trouble (part 2) - Nov 26
3. Five Run Away Together - Jul 11 1979
4. Five Go to Demon’s Rock (part 1) - Jul 18
5. Five Go to Demon’s Rock (part 2) - Jul 25
6. Five Go Down to the Sea (part 1) - Aug 1
7. Five Go Down to the Sea (part 2) - Aug 8
8. Five Go Off in a Caravan - Aug 15
9. Five Go Off to Camp (part 1) - Aug 22
10. Five Go Off to Camp (part 2) - Aug 29
I wasn't aware that there was a strike and wondered why the second series had been split up. Obviously if the IMDB is correct I am missing the middle of the sandwich, as my dates do at least agree with theirs.

All I know Tony, is that The 78/79 Famous Five series, is excellent, and shouldn't be missed.

Re: The New Famous Five
At the time I kept all the TV times entries, and then painstakenly copied the description of the episodes onto the labels for the (audio) cassettes on which I recorded the programmes. How keen is that!Tony Summerfield wrote: As I said in my earlier post the details I have are actually taken from the TV Times:-
I still have them all, even though I'm not sure that I've actually listened to them again since!

Wonder how easy it is to follow what's going on from an audio recording only? Knowing the books well would help, of course.

Re: The New Famous Five
I have never seen a Famous Five TV adaptation, not counting the cartoon at the EB day, and I feel I'm missing out here, any chance of seeing one of the CFF films, or an episode from the '78 or '90's series at a future Enid Blyton Day? or has it been done already and I missed it?
Kate.
Just remembered, have seen Five go mad in Dorset. Irreverent but very funny.

Re: The New Famous Five
You can view pretty much all of the episodes from the 70's and the 90's on Youtube.
If you go to the home page and type in "Famous Five" all episodes come up sooner or later
