"Chorion" is walling up!!!

Post by peppermint peppy »

Hiya folks and fans of the FamousFive 78/79 TV-series.
Get real - your help is needed!
At the moment I'm very sad.Recently I got an email from Felix & Karli,
webmasters of the German FamousFive website including the message that Chorion is walling up the negotiations for a reissue of the Famous Five 78/79 series.
Writing this,I wanna encourage every fan with heart in the right place to support the matter of the German guys and their team.
Here is the link to the German website.

If you are really interested in support this matter .Your invocation to Chorion is needed strongly!

Wherever, there's a adventure to be found...

This is very bad news but not unexpected. Chorion are clearly not convinced of the potentially very large Europe wide market for a DVD release of the 1970s series. There must be a very large number of people in their 30s and 40s who would jump at the chance of purchasing all 26 episodes on DVD. There is also the younger end of the market, my niece and also my friends kids absolutely adore watching the series.

Excuse me now while I fire off a polite missive to Chorion!

I've voted "Yes" in the poll and I'll try to write a polite letter to Chorion when I get the time. I'd love to see the series released on DVD.

Yes (of course... )
I noticed that the part of the quest of the TV rights is now available in English. Thanx!

This forum is quieter than usual, probably due to the wonderful weather, sunshine in the UK can be something of a rarity! Even so, this thread has not had a very large response which is disappointing.

I have sent a message to Chorion extolling the virtues of a DVD release of the 1970s series but it will only have effect if others do likewise. However, I am not optimistic about this as Chorion propose to release an animated version of the Famous Five next year. Would a release of the 1970s series clash with this?

Dunno petermax? Hope this question was a rethorical one?
Here's the weather fine as well, but a little bit too hot and muggy for my taste.
Gonna enjoy "outdoors" when I have to work or in the evening!
But back on topic:
In my opinion the 70's series wouldn't never clash with a further cartoon
on the ww market.I'm really sure that this new cartoon series' gonna quit the scene very fast.
Surely no license for printing money .

I have also voted Yes and would love to see it out on DVD. The weather here in the UK is glorious at the moment which probably explains why the forums are a bit quiet this weekend. I myself have been working the last three days from morning till night so have not posted much. Also I think Ming is/was having computer problems.

Peppermint Peppy how serious are these negotiations? Is there actually a proposal from a company to pay for the release on DVD or is it just some fans dreaming? I tried to load that German website but for some reason it would'nt work, I'll try again later.

I think ,no I will believe that these negotiations are meant very seriously.
It's a main object of Felix and Karli & Team to move Chorion to renew the rights.
So long as I know, the project started in the region of 2005, this German site deals with this thought to make this dream come true.

Addition:
Chorion shall renew the vid/dvd-rights now which expired in 2003 so that
Southern Star could exploit it in future by granting a license,
e.g. to the company e-m-s new media AG for a DVD-release.
You see this dream is within reach!
Everything's depending on Chorion.

Hiya again.I had correspodence with Felix one of the webmasters of the
German Famous Five FanPage.
He wrote that this project is very seriously meant and
people ask for a DVD-collection of the 78/79 series again and again.
And this for years....

Here it goes to the invocation to Chorion

Wow those guys should be working for Inspector Jenks. Thats some detective work and clearly shows that they are very dedicated to the cause. I will write to Chorion as they suggest.
