Thanks Zoe, they are great!
I wish the series would be released on DVD! The video store where I used to hire them from, got rid of all its videos and so I can no longer watch them :(

Jen-Jen - try e-bay. There's usually a lot of 70's Famous Five videos on there.

What a great selection of pictures. Thanks, Zoe, for sharing them with us. Amazing that you should outbid Gary too!

The black and white publicity shots are phantastic. Thanks, Zoe. :D

Especially interesting for me is the one with all of them waving. On Gary Russell´s former website you could find a picture (also black and white) which was looking very similar: All of them laying on the grass in the same position, not waving but just laughing. Same session for sure.

Also interesting the one with Jo. In the tv-episode this scene appears, too, but without Julian and Dick smiling. Probably this photo was made during a test take.

And sweet the one of "on a hike together" with Michele cowering next to Gary with her hand on his shoulder.

They are excellent Zoe! I just love the individual shots, especially Dick's one. And George looks pretty good too!

Since a couple of days on the German fansite some photos can be seen which I did not know before. For example a shot that looks like preparations for the picnic scene in "Five go to Kirrin Island".

They are from an annual (or several annuals).

If you wanna take a look, just go to

http://lgfb.lg.funpic.de/index2.htm

Enter the German version of the site (because the English one is still under construction) and click on "Raritäten". Then go down until you reach "Postkarten & Pressephotos" and click on the blue link with the same name.

I have the tapes too!!! Grew up with them... mum bought me them from a little record shop in Auckland where I grew up. When i was 12 i tried to hunt for more but to no avail :(

Have Five on a Treasure Island, Secret Trail and Mystery to Solve. I love them cause the adult voices are the same but playing different characters! :)

Spurred on by the EB day I've taken photos of some more of my collection... Please note there will be at least 2 further picture sessions before I'm done, I've not even started on the LPs, and the books, not to mention the jigsaws and games....

Installment 3....

In installment 1, I showed a sticker pack, well, here is the box it's from...
Image

...and here is the album it goes into...
Image

The Germans produced some cassettes (and LPs which will follow in a later installment. The flash spoilt one of the cassettes in the pic, but I caught it on another shot...
Image
Image

They also produced a card game - not a clue how to play it but the pictures are lovely.
Image

And some postcards - the quality of the shot is poor but I've put them away and am still 'horsey' from riding, so not getting my mitts on them now. I'll redo the pic later
Image

Both the English and German market had this set of View Master discs from 5 go off to camp - great fun to look at.
Image

These are now getting rare... Famous five Adventure magazines from the '80s... I've the full set and a few spare, debating about selling the spares to make room...
Image

The autograph cards are now very rare...
Image

Now, before you look any further down, put that cuppa you're holding down swallow whatever you have in your mouth, unless of course it's a pen lid..., and cover the keyboard in a non pourous fabric.... Marcus was probably glad I didn't post this before yesterday!!....

Ahem!!

Lots more still to photograph, but that should keep you going for another few weeks!

Excellent. What on earth is the last one? Were those some kind of publicity shots?

It was an article promoting the return of the second series...

Dick and George didn't fair too badly in it, but oh... that helmet, and those knee pads.....

Ahem, safety first, fun later...
