Noddy and Kelloggs

Post by Stephen La Riviere »

Hello,

Does anyone know anything about Kelloggs' Noddy adverts from the 50s?

Also, does anyone know anything about the Noddy television series from that time?

I'm currently writing a book on the Supermarionation shows (Thunderbirds etc) and I'm trying to discover about Gerry Anderson's involvement in making a Noddy advert in 1956.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks.

Hello Stephen,

I was told about this a few years ago by someone who was researching Gerry Anderson's early career, but I'm afraid I can't really remember any details, other than saying that it was some of Gerry Anderson's very early work.

All the Kellogg's work was done by the Noddy artist Robert Tyndall.

Hope you find out something more.

Best wishes
Tony

Pity. I believe this one Noddy commercial holds the key to re-writing the whole history of the Anderson's early days.

Do you know what region the tv series was made by?

I don't know which region, no. If I am remembering rightly though it was a bit more than a commercial, I thought he had made a pilot which was never used, the producers preferred someone else's work - I wonder what they think in retrospect!!

Really?

Where did you get that information from?

I think it's unlikely he would have produced a pilot; I can understand the team forgetting making one advert, but a pilot film I think they'd remember.

Oh well. The search continues then.

Thanks!
