Hello! I thought I would write to say I managed to somehow find the exact copy with all the (very confused state of) stories I had in my head for the book I'd been searching for.
The cover isn't quite the same which I'm not sure why is the case but maybe it's a newer reprint as it's dated 1983. Amazingly I don't think a single word has been changed! It's called
Enid Blyton's Storybook and it has both the 2 stories I'd put up and other stories such as how the rose got its claws. I got it in very clean and nice condition too which was amazing as I randomly bought it over the internet! What a wonderful blessing
The hunt is over!
Anita, I also like
The Birthday Spell, epecially the description of the curious things Derek first stumbles across in the forest. They are very magical and delicate sounding!
Interesting story Moonraker
Tee hee, all this time I thought you were a secret agent *looks over shoulder*. Hope you managed to get your
Book of Brownies - how was it? I think it was quite a great adventure, nice to have it all in one book.
Tales of Toyland was similar in that way as well and I quite enjoyed that too, though it was only half the length of BOB I think.
