SEARCHING FOR A CHILDHOOD STORY BOOK......Can anyone help?

Post by sparkle »

Hi :)
I am new here & you are possibly my last chance of success.
I really hope someone can help me find a particular book, from my childhood.

I sadly can't remember the name of the book
(possibly along the lines of "Bedtime/short stories or fairy tales)

but what I can remember is:

There was a story called "Dickie Dawdles Adventures"
It had a yellow cover
There was at least 5-10 stories in it, maybe more.

I would love to find out the title so that I could at least have a chance of finding it again, to read to my little one's.

If anyone can help, i would very much appreciate it. :D

*Fingers crossed, in hope*

Hi! :D

I have a book that has 'Dicky Dawdle's Adventures' in it.

Called The Flyaway Cottage and other stories. It was published by Award in 1993 as part of the popular rewards series.

It does say in the front of the book - First published as part of Enid Blyton's Holiday Book Series - So this might give you a starting point to find a copy the same as your original one.

Hope that helps! :D

If you're interested the other stories in 'The Flyaway Cottage +' are:

The Fly-away Cottage
Lazy Lenny
Dicky Dawdle's Adventures
Think Hard, Boatman
The Dirty Old Hat
Freddie Has A Job
A Visitor To Dinner
The Smugglers' Caves
Patter's Adventure
It Really Served Him Right
The Suprising Buns
The Naughty Little Blacksmith
Little Mr Tuppeny
Take Firm Hold Of The Nettle

Thank you so much :D

I will see if I can get a copy.
I can't remember the other stories but if I study them a bit more, maybe it will jog my mind.

Have taken note of the title & will see how I get on.

Thanks for your time,
very much appreciated.
