But you're right, Mr Trotterville gets hauled out of bed in "Invisible Thief", when Buster barks at Mr Goon examining the property when he gets the 'Trotvill next' message.

Ah yes, I enjoyed Mr Trotteville's encounters with Goon. He didn't show the same deference as the other parents, more like barely concealed contempt! The incident when Buster was framed for sheep worrying springs to mind.

The main supporting cast in FFO was Ern (and his pomes & his brothers) but - for me - they were a bit over-exposed. Maybe if the series was 20 books long instead of 15 they could have been spread out more.

I wouldn't even have minded another story with Eunice (perhaps made an honorary FFO), another PC Pippin (Goon on hols again) and further cameos later in the series by characters like Miss Tremble.

We still need 4, 6 and 7.
I have absolutely no idea about number 4. Can't place him at all.
Number 7, I just keep coming back to the women from next door in Disappearing Cat, but have they all been ruled out?
Number 6 has been bugging me as I've recognised it but couldn't think from where. I think I've got it now - is it Mrs Hicks when Fatty sees her outside the man from Burma's house in Strange Messages?

We never finished this one.
I must admit, I searched the Cave of Books illustrations for number 4 and was surprised to find out it was Mr Lorenzo from the station scene in 'Tally Ho Cottage'.
But I don't remember finding number 7 at all. Anyone have any new ideas?
