It is, Boodi. I've fallen for a "false friend" for a long time until I realized that "holly" doesn't mean "Holunder" (elder or elderberry) because it sounds similar and the German title of this book is "Mystery at the elder(berry) way".
I noticed my mistake when in another book they decorate with holly for Christmas.

I have another image too.

I haven't read (m)any of the 'family' books, but I'd guess this is The Family at Red Roofs? Unless it's a red herring to go with the red roof! :)

You're right, Bertie.

Now there's another cover with a caravan in it.

As it looks like a Find-Outers cover I'll try The Mystery of the Missing Man, though there are other possibilities.

You're right, Anita. The German title is "Mystery of a Caravan" (I think the English title fits the contents better).

I've got some more scans prepared but maybe I should wait a bit with posting them so that there will be a bit of break? This thread wasn't especially active for the last covers - but of course that could have been because of the holidays :?:

Is the orange just curtains, then? :?
I've been thinking they were flames, and it was a caravan on fire - and I didn't know any story like that! The closest was that Secret Seven book when they move into a caravan after a fire to their house.
Well worked out, Anita.

To me, it looks as if the caravan is on the edge of a cliff.

I was busy with family over the holidays but I hope to be on the forums a bit more now if you're happy to post some more scans, Hannah.

Thanks, Bertie. I remembered Hannah posting one or two other Find-Outers covers that had pictures in the same kind of style, so that made me go for a Find-Outers title.

 You could be right, Boodi!

The covers seem to have been inspired by Eileen Soper's covers, though some of the children's faces look rather distorted on Five Go Down to the Sea. The lighter-haired boy going round onto the spine (the one behind Anne - is it Yan?) looks like a pixie!
