Can you guess the English title from these covers?

Post by pete9012S »

Yes, let's have a game before Christmas is upon us!

Can you name the English title for these foreign books by looking at the cover?
I think some are rather hard and obscure, so I will be giving out clues for some in case we get stuck.
Also, I may not have the correct answer myself, so please say if you think I have the English title wrong.

Have as many guesses as you like, whenever you want as I would like to keep the game moving and post as many covers as possible before the New Year!!

Good luck!
Here's an easy one to start us off:

I’m thinking that is The Castle Of Adventure.

That's the one Barnard!
Here's the next:

ps. There will be one 'elephant in the room' - a book that is not by Enid Blyton - so beware!!

This is only a guess but it could be Holiday House I suggest, with little conviction.

Yes, a great guess Barnard. It's not that one.

This cover is not really representative of the book which has a three word title...

First year at Malory Towers when Gwen was pushed in the pool....taking a wild guess.

Amazingly, not the elephant Viv!

I've added two letters to the title...

The O'Sullivan Twins?

(I'm going solely by Pete's clue as the cover doesn't look Blytonian at all!)
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."

The cover is downright scary.
The Chief looked at Fatty. "Brains are good, courage is excellent, resourcefulness is rare," he said, "but generosity crowns everything, Frederick. One of these days I'll be proud of you!" - "Vanished Prince".
