Change last letter to make a fruit - Peace, Graph, Apply, Fib (Peach, Grape, Apple, Fig).

Re: Only Connect clues
I just posted that too, Anita — except I missed Fig and put Pear, which is presumably the red herring.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: Only Connect clues
Sorry about that - though I've got Fib (Fig) instead of Peak (Pear).

We're posting at the same time! I think Fig must be correct, as Peak is one of the synonyms in the other group you found.

Re: Only Connect clues
CAPE can go before the other four (Cod, Horn, Fear and Town).
Yes, it can be a little confusing posting at the same time - but it's all part of the fun!

Oh, of course — well done, Anita.
Do you think we get a prize for the fastest ever solving of a wall in this game??

Re: Only Connect clues
Courtenay, have you checked back through all the games to see whether this wall was solved fastest?

Re: Only Connect clues
Great work, Courtenay and Anita! As you say, arguably the fastest wall to be solved!
You were like Pam and Barbara for parts of it - merging into one as you posted simultaneously and talked at the same time!

Re: Only Connect clues
It was solved before I had a chance to respond to any of them!
Here's another wall...
Dead. Mean. Trunk. Spit.
House. Wings. Sap. Amen.
Mash. Surgeon. Mane. Dust.
Name. Hatter. Legs. Top.

PAN can follow Dead, Wings, Dust and Legs?

Mean, Amen, Mane and Name all comprise the same four letters.

That's right, Boatbuilder.
Remaining clues:

Re: Only Connect clues
This one seems to be proving tougher than the previous wall.
One of the remaining groups (which I expected to be solved quickly) is about putting the same word before or after each clue; the other is about changing / adding / removing a letter to each clue in order to make connected synonyms.
