Just had another fiddle and found out how to do it. I have covered the bottom half of Britain, and got bored, so gave up!

I got 42 in the first 5 minutes, then drew a blank, so I cheated and looked up the last 6.

Not too bad for someone who didn't grow up around here, I figure...

Ditto here too, Courtenay.... plus, if you do decide to cheat, you have to be quick as well as careful to find the correct Ceremonial Counties map. Some of them out there in cyberspace seem to show how the Counties were before reorganiz/sation in 1974....

And, for this quiz, you must type in the correct name form for each County. Also... the vast majority of their names end with -shire.... one northern English County is named like the Counties in Ireland.... there are two London's (“City of” and “Greater”).... and it's “East Riding of Yorkshire”, NOT “East Yorkshire”!
