Can you identify the 47 European Countries?
Following on from the United States quiz, and by popular demand, here are two images of silhouettes of the 47 European Countries, along with a list of those countries in alphabetical order.
I have placed the silhouettes in two images so more detail is visible.
Can you pair the countries to their silhouette? The images are definitely not to scale.

Er, dunno. Never seen 14 in my life, for a start. Are you sure it's really part of Europe???
... In other words, it's the UK, including Northern Ireland. Whereas 40 is Ireland, as in the Republic Of. I can figure out several more already, but will give others a go now!!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

There are quite a few easy ones, Courtenay, but there are more difficult ones, I think. I have managed to get 17 of them straight off without any problem.

I'll go for a tougher one — 17 is Croatia. I know because it was once featured on the Lonely Planet calendar that I used to get every year, and I recognise that long strip of coastline!

John (LS), I assume your '!' is meant to be a '1'. However, It's not Austria. The rest are OK.

Updated list below.
Perhaps it's worth mentioning at this point that as Russia covers an area of Eastern Europe and Asia, the image of Russia is the entire country, not just the part in Europe. It also excludes the currently annexed portion of Ukraine (Crimea).
