We've seen many thin-legged characters on the covers of modern Blyton books, but these surely take the biscuit!

Yes, no wonder she wears thick horizontal stripes to try to make them look fatter!

I should think they need to eat some biscuits! They are truly awful.Lucky Star wrote:And Lucy-Ann's arms.Anita Bensoussane wrote:

... but with significantly less artistic skill. (Though compared with the stick-legged Spanish monstrosities, it's a masterpiece.)pete9012S wrote: The Finnish edition - a redrawing of the original

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

The Dutch edition:
We all know Betty Maxey is perfectly capable of drawing birds, but even we have to acknowledge that other artists can pull it off too..

Re: Which Adventure Series Book - Unfamiliar Cover
What language are the last series of editions written in? They are very colourful but I'm not keen on the actual drawings.

Re: Which Adventure Series Book - Unfamiliar Cover
I'm not keen on the latest lot, which are somewhat psychedelic.
The Dutch edition is extremely attractive in my opinion, with the soaring gulls and natural-looking children (though they don't look quite right for Jack, Philip, Dinah and Lucy-Ann). Kiki is beautiful and I like the tranquil colours of the sea, sky and rocks.
I also like the French one. The colours are bold and the gulls add drama.

Jack looks like a pirate with cocktail sticks for legs! Meanwhile Philip and Dinah's hair seem to be high-fiving each other .Daisy wrote:I should think they need to eat some biscuits! They are truly awful.Lucky Star wrote:And Lucy-Ann's arms.Anita Bensoussane wrote:
