I'm pleased to have seen the illustrations she has done for other books... I now feel the Five ones kind of let her down.

Correct Eddie.
I understand completely Daisy, but it's truly amazing what illustrations you will accept and grow to love when first viewed as a child!!

Let's go mad and finish on two Maxey's from two different books.
Wonder how long this will take!!!

the second one I suspect is Kirrin Island Again, when George gave Timmy the book to take back to Kirrin Cottage.

Is the first one Mystery Moor?
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Excellent Julie & Fiona. A sad time for some, (maybe just one) as this Maxey fest concludes.
Let's finally compare these two pics by both Betty & Eileen in all their glory:

1.Mystery Moor:

2.Kirrin Island Again:

Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to partake in this quiz.

That's either a very big jump or a very low bed in Maxey's first one

Thanks Pete for the quiz, it was fun.

Great game. Well done for thinking of and running it Pete. I enjoyed it immensely even if I wasn't exactly great at it. :D
