Do we have to do them in order? (I think I know what 3 is, but can't figure out 2)

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I've no idea on 2, I can't work out what the square things are. Blocks of flats? Calendars?

Many thanks, Pete. I did try posting this myself without success.pete9012S wrote:Here's a great quiz brought to you from our master quiz-master himself Eddie - How many of the 50 bands/artists can you decipher?

Some of the symbols seem to have posted differently from the originals. I don’t understand why. Most odd and, of course, this will make some of them difficult to decipher.

I think they are meant to be speech bubbles, Fiona. However, some of the posted versions look a little different from the original ones. I don’t know why this is. Number 2 is meant to be Talking Heads, I believe.Fiona1986 wrote:I've no idea on 2, I can't work out what the square things are. Blocks of flats? Calendars?
The answers don’t have to be guessed in any particular order.

But there is speech bubble - person (head) - square thing - male symbol repeated. They also appear in 8, 12, 14 and 16 but look slightly different. Talking heads wouldn't need the extra symbols as speech bubbles and heads would be enough?

I agree totally. Neither Pete nor I know why some of the posted versions differ from the originals.

I think number 1 looks more like Ladybirds, although Beatles was what first sprung to mind, and there is a group called 'The Ladybirds'.

Yes, John, both Chick and I guessed Ladybirds when we first looked at number 1. It seems to make more sense than Beatles.

Ah right - well if it has come from a phone originally then different operating systems will show emojis differently as will computers.
If an Android user sends one emoji to an iPhone user (on Facebook for example) it may show as a ? or it may show a similar image. That chat then viewed on a PC it may show different images for both.

Thank you for the explanation. I must admit all the technology is rather beyond me.

If as you say, Eddie, they don't need to be in order,
20. Hot Chocolate
32. Meat Loaf
36. Earth, Wind & Fire.
42. Rainbow
45. Catfish and the Bottlemen
